The Judge Group is recruiting for a Commercial Tax Accountant. The company is a global medical technology company that manufactures and sells medical supplies, devices, laboratory instruments, and diagnostic products. This position is responsible for monthly transaction tax compliance responsibilities for the US and international locations. The opportunity is located in the San Antonio area and local candidates are highly preferred. Responsibilities:* Monthly transaction tax compliance data preparation and review of 3rd party return preparers* Maintaining business licenses* Assist with business license compliance, preparing journal entries, and reconciling tax related accounts for month end closing procedures.* Maintaining customer exemption certificates* Researching tax laws for accurate compliance and monthly reporting* Maintaining tax automation software to ensure compliance accuracy Requirements:* BS or BA REQUIRED, Master’s Degree in Accounting / CPA / MBA preferred* 2 + years experience with sales/use tax compliance preferably with a large company with complex multi-entity reporting responsibilities.* Experience preparing returns working with complex datasets including SAP/Sabrix/Vertex.* Ability to utilize critical thinking/analytical skills to solve complex tax issues.* Experience researching tax laws and regulations using tax research engines.* Proficient in Microsoft Access a plus, ability to use macros/automation to improve processes* Knowledge of GAAP preferred* Experience with Process Improvement preferred The compensation range for this opportunity is $54,000 - $60,000 plus benefits and a COMPANY PENSION PLAN.
