This position serves as a consultative expert regarding technical accounting policies and practices. Proactively researches, identifies, and leads the implementation of all US GAAP and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting requirements and changes. Identifies and solves the most complex business problems that impact the accounting and financial aspects of the Company.
: Analyzes and delivers position papers and forecasts impact of upcoming accounting pronouncements on Company practices, financial statements, and disclosure requirements.
: Write and publishes articles in industry and/or technical journals and publications of the Companys interpretation, position, and updated practices resulting from regulatory accounting changes.
: Acts as an expert to ensure all current and future Company deals, significant transactions, and contract terms are structured accurately according to US GAAP and SEC regulations and are strategically designed to capture maximum economic value. Uses knowledge to influence senior managements decision making and policy setting.
: Advises and assists the Companys external reporting team in preparation, review, and filing of Company 8Ks, 10Ks, and 10Qs, and other registration documents (S:4, S:3, etc.).
: Influences senior management decisions through peer assessments of financial statements to ensure alignment and consistency with evolving disclosure requirements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
: Minimum Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field is required.
: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
: Minimum 10 years of public accounting or SEC reporting experience with public company filings required.
: Experience researching ASC, SEC, and SOX requirements.
: Experience preparing comment letters for regulatory agencies.
: Solid understanding of internal controls framework for publicly traded companies
: Deep technical knowledge of US GAAP, SEC, and SOX regulations.
: Ability to convey complex accounting and financial information to a variety of audiences to include senior management.
: Ability to effectively lead multiple projects in a deadline driven environment.
: Detail oriented and excellent organization, communication, and analytical skills.
: Demonstrated ability to a driven self:starter.
: This position will serve as a base point to launch into the Company in areas of Accounting, Treasury, BP and A, and Corporate Accounting.
