Job Description : Network Analysts will also analyze and report on issues Air Force users are reporting via Remedy and decrease the return to service time when an outage/degradation occurs on the network. Network Analysts will perform trend analysis to identify areas that warrant additional attention and feed that data to Problem Management to initiate root cause analysis on issues that occur frequently on the Air Force network. Responsibilities /Duties : Monitoring sensor tools to proactively identify outages or potential problems . Performing routine, scheduled hardware and software checks on AFIN infrastructure and core services which will be documented in the Master Station Log (MSL). Investigating out-of-normal operational performance to determine need for escalation. Performing regular trend analysis to identify out-of-normal performance warranting additional investigation. Working with the Air Force’s Sensor Lead to communicate the status, risk, and impact of emerging problem areas to Incident and Problem Management processes. Reconciling ASI reports with incidents detected on the AFIN to avoid false positive reporting. Carefully collecting and documenting all available data on potential and actual problem areas in order to support rapid hand-off to problem management, event, or incident response teams when necessary. Creation of daily PowerPoint slides used for AFIN daily operations check briefing covering high interest items happening across the AFIN on a day-to-day basis. Writing thorough After Action Reports as needed. Directly communicating with internal and external mission partners via DCO or phone to ensure all incidents are being properly addressed. Assisting ARC in deconfliction of ASIs. Routine, hourly scans of all tickets submitted in Remedy across the Enterprise. Proper documentation/escalation of identified issues and detailed Technical Reports. Prioritizing trouble tickets in accordance with established guidelines. Analysis of symptoms presented in tickets, then documenting and reporting the results. Continual improvement recommendations for Remedy reporting/standardization. Continual improvement recommendations for supporting tools like the Dashboard tool, Access tool and SolarWinds. Maintaining detailed knowledge of IT systems and services within the Air Force and how they integrate. Maintaining constant communication between all AMAC teams. Answer calls and provide guidance and training on policies and procedures to CFPs. Monitoring Enterprise Remedy ticket queues and ensuring all tickets are flowing to the appropriate teams in a timely manner . Provide Quality Control checks of tickets to ensure they comply with Enterprise standards Required Skills : 2 Years Experience with IT Candidates must possess knowledge and ability to perform analysis on database information for the purposes of trending service outages and network related symptoms. Candidates must be exceedingly familiar with all Microsoft Office products. Education/Certification Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in CS, MIS, related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience desired Security+ Certification Clearance Requirements : Must be a US citizen and be able to hold a US Government Secret security clearance. You do not need a current/active clearance to apply, but must be able to pass a government security background investigation.
