*An outstanding leader is sought to guide the further development of an outstanding educational program in respiratory care. *The Department of Health Sciences (DHS) in the School of Health Professions (SHP) offers both the BS and MS in respiratory care. Both programs are designed to prepare advanced level respiratory therapists for clinical practice, as well as for leadership positions in the field. * * *_The Position_* * * *The program director*will oversee the administrative operation of the programs and provide leadership for teaching, research, service and clinical activities. Student advisement, faculty development and ensuringprogrammatic accreditation are expected, along with developing and implementing the strategic vision, goals, and objectives for the programs. * * *_Qualifications_* * * *Applicants*must have at least amaster's degree in an area appropriate to leading a respiratory care program; an earned doctorate in health sciences, education or a related area is preferred. Candidates must have at least four years of experience in the field, at least two of which must have been on the faculty of an accredited respiratory care educational program. Candidates must be eligible for licensure as a respiratory care practitioner in the State of Texas and have the registered respiratory therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care. Successful candidates will have a track record of achievement in education, as well as demonstrated leadership in research and scholarship as well as active participation in relevant professional associations. *_University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio: UT Health_**_ _* The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (aka UT Health San Antonio) is one of the country's leading academic health centers. The SHP offers bachelor degree programs in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Emergency Heath Science and Respiratory Care and master's degree programs in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, and Respiratory Care. Advanced training is available through a doctoral degree program in Physical Therapy and we anticipate receiving approval to offer a doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy to begin in 2018. Our proposal to begin a new master's degree program (MS) in speech-language pathology was also recently approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and a proposal to offer a PhD in Health Sciences to prepare future faculty and researchers in allied health is under development. * * *Applications*are now being sought and will be considered until the position is filled.
