With the general guidance of the Program Director, the Site Director supervises and manages the daily operations of aY afterschool program. The Site Director is responsible for developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with school district personnel, directing the program in accordance with the mission statement of the YMCA of San Antonio and the standards of all regulatory agencies. The Site Director assures that all participants are provided a safe, supportive environment that promotes learning and positive youth development.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Manages and supervises the YSA staff on campus including the following:a. Daily monitors staff time to include clocking in and out according to schedule.b. Keeps staff informed of management/administrative issues.c. Provides assignments and schedules.d. Conducts regular meetings.e. Provides coaching and on-the-job training as needed.f. Initiates corrective measures as performance dictates.2. Implements and supervises daily enrichment and age-appropriate activities/curriculum.3. Implements and supervises the food service program in accordance with DFPS safety policies.4. Maintains the physical facility to include restrooms and grounds.5. Follows all health and safety guidelines; adheres to risk management practices.6. Secures and maintains all resources and supplies necessary for daily operations.7. Maintains administrative and recordkeeping procedures at the site.8. Models and mentors for staff appropriate interactions with participants.a. Actively participates in all aspects of the program.b. Ensures the appropriate use of behavior management techniques, offering appropriate discipline when necessary to participants.9. Acts as a liaison between the YMCA, school district personnel, program participants and regulatory agency representatives.10. Clocks in and out on time daily.11. Communicates regularly with parents, discussing each child's participation in program.12. Meets periodically with school district personnel to evaluate the ongoing operations of the programand the school, actively seeking to address concerns.13. Oversees regulatory inspections and works in consultation with YSA Administrative staff to correct any compliance issues with regulatory standards.14. Ensures all billing procedures are adhered to as well as disseminates billing information to parents in a timely and professional manner.15. Assists in the promotion of YMCA events.16. Completes required on-going training to include:a. Fall In-serviceb. Spring In-servicec. 40 Developmental Assetsd. Redwoods Trainingse. A minimum of 10 hours of training per semesterf. Site based Meetingsg. All-Staff Meetings17. Participates in school and branch events.18. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.19. Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:1. Must be at least 21 years of age.2. A High School Diploma or Degree is required. A Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Behavioral Science, Sociology or other related field is preferred.3. A minimum 2 years of experience working in a licensed childcare setting or liked experience is required.4. Certifications required within the first week of hire: Redwoods Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazardous Communications and Defensive Driving.5. Certifications/Trainings required within the first 30 days of hire: ASHI CPR Pro and First Aid; Redwoods Child Sexual Abuse and Appropriate Touch; Licensing Pre-service.6. A valid Texas Driver's license is required as well as the capacity to drive to various locations within the greater San Antonio metropolitan area.7. Must be able to establish and maintain harmonious relationships by promoting caring, honesty, respect and responsibility with staff, YMCA members, and program participants.8. Must be a positive role model to children, displaying emotional maturity and stability at all times.9. Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.10. Previous experience in building positive, authentic relationships with diverse populations.WORKING CONDITIONS:1. Work is performed in an active environment.2. Incumbent must have the ability to communicate with staff, children and parents.3. This position requires high levels of attention and alertness.4. Visual acuity is required for child supervision.5. Repetitive stooping and bending with regular lifting of up to 20 pounds is required. Ability to stand and walk for long periods at a time is required, as well as, the ability to run and be able to participate in sports.6.
