# Job Description
Responsible for verification of insurance eligibility and coverage as well as obtaining required authorizations as per insurance payer to secure payment for Diagnostic Imaging Services.
# Preferred Qualifications
Possess a good working knowledge of insurance and authorizations processes. Strong clerical, medical terminology, communication, organization and computer skills. Radiology insurance verification experience. Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal forms. Bilingual Spanish & English languages

Job Duty
Will be a resource for insurance related matters, assisting with collection of co-pays, deductibles, advanced beneficiary notices (ABN s) for services not covered by Medicare and other payers, co-insurance, establishing payment arrangements on balances due. Will complete referrals for each advanced imaging procedure.

Authorizations/Referrals: Review all scheduled appointments 5 days prior to date of service to ensure that all required referrals, authorization are obtained. Ensure proper documentation is documented electronic medical record (EMR). Communicate with patients in a friendly and helpful manner. Assist patients with questions or concerns, attempt to resolve concerns pertaining to insurance coverage and financial responsibility. Communicate with clinical staff regarding patients with pending insurance benefits maintaining strict confidentiality.

Remain informed of coverage changes through updates from Provider Relations or insurance specific flyers and communicate updates to clinic staff. Identify denied services for specific payers through monthly review and educates staff to prevent continual denials. Maintain and update resource materials for managed care processes such as insurances/plans providers are or are not credentialed with to ensure reimbursement. Is a resource for providers and patients regarding insurance processes and/or benefits. Review all scheduled appointments 5 days prior to date of service to identify patients who have outstanding balances and identifies co-pays, co-insurance and deductibles. Discuss financial responsibility with patients documenting conversations in the electronic medical record (EMR).

This position requires flexibility in weekly work schedule and may include weekends.
