Job Description
The HR Generalist will be responsible for attracting and on:boarding highly qualified candidates for skilled, craft and administrative support positions for projects and offices across the country and internationally. This position will also provide assistance to employees, to include explanation of policies, benefits, procedures, problem solving and serve as a liaison between employees and insurance company, as necessary and assist with HR initiatives to enhance the organizations strategic objectives.
*Develop creative recruitment solutions to include but not limited to proactive networking, database mining, career fairs, campus recruitment, partnering, with educational institutions, social networking and internet recruitments sites, as well as, identifying new sourcing channels.
*Communicate with hiring managers to determine personnel needs, scheduling interviews, pre:hire activities, on:boarding, and required training.
*Interact with job seekers in:person, via telephone, email, and text messages to determine qualifications per manager requirements.
*Assist hiring managers in the negotiation of employment offers and generate offer letters, as required.
*Responsible for recruitment campaigns and advertising utilizing various media, as appropriate.
*Maintain current and complete understanding of federal and state laws, including case law and regulations such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, FLSA, FMLA, ADEA, and immigration (I:9 processing).
*Promote a positive employee relation environment through consistent encouragement of open dialogue between employees and management.
*Maintain benefit eligibility in online HRIS.
*Perform various audits of department actions, files and systems.
*Research past employee files to determine eligibility upon rehire.
*Perform data entry for all areas of department responsibility.
*Assist with Companys annual open enrollment process, including Benefits Open House.
*Perform additional assignments per supervisors direction.
*High school diploma or equivalent.
*2:5 years of previous experience in Human Resources with emphasis on craft recruiting and Benefits Administration required.
*Knowledge of personnel functions and procedures, Federal and State employment regulations, employment practices, etc.
*Previous experience with HRIS preferred.
*Construction, Oil and gas, or engineering industry experienced highly preferred.
*Excellent bilingual (Spanish) written and verbal communication skills.
*Excellent computer skills required, to include Microsoft Office Suite:Intermediate Excel experience.
*Ability to travel up to 25.
*Possess a strong understanding of specific aspects of employee benefits administration.
*Knowledge and skill related to interviewing techniques and the ability to assess, plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate recruitment activities.
*Strong organizational skills.
*Ability to maintain confidentiality of all data.
*Ability to function in a fast:paced environment.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.
*The ability to manage multiple priorities and work with a diverse employee base in a fast:paced environment is a must.
Work is performed primarily indoors.
*Manual dexterity and sitting for extended periods of time;
*Frequent standing and walking;
*Occasional climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and crouching;
*Visual acuity to read printed and electronic documents; and
*Lifting and / or exerting of force up to 20 pounds occasionally.
