Abacus Technology is seeking an Inventory Management Specialist to provide acquisition support for the Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence and Networks (C3I and N) Directorate at Lackland AFB. This is a full:time position.Conduct acquisition logistics management support to include performing life cycle supportability analyses; developing/reviewing Integrated Logistics Support Plans, Computer Resources Life Cycle Management Plans, and solicitation documentation; and establishing maintenance/support concepts. Analyze and resolve difficult issues and problems involving processes, work methods, data management, and operational procedures/problems resulting in timely delivery of services to meet the needs of the customers and the government. Weigh the impact of variables, such as, cost, existing policies and procedures, data processing requirements, and other issues. Monitor and evaluate usage transactions and fluctuations, track the timing of reorder actions, verify cost changes for parts and subassemblies, adjust lead times as necessary, or take other appropriate actions to ensure items are available when required. Implement and utilize lean logistics concept of providing the right parts to the right place at the right time with focus on worldwide customer needs and mission enhancement. Approve recommendations to increase stock levels for components or subassemblies and authorize significant changes in expenditure and stocking levels based on order and usage records. Analyze and monitor planned or scheduled materiel requirements and forecast and fund availability. Monitor and analyze changes in rate of usage, cost, availability of established suppliers, alternative sources of supply, and other activities in an inventory account requiring intervention to support maintenance operations without interruption in the flow of materiels. Monitor and analyze assigned items in relation to changes in programming or usage factors. Keep cognizant of changing situations which affect the quantitative requirements, such as, technological or engineering changes, interchangeability, change in agency programs, changes in projects and programs, and changes in issue or asset trends and recommends appropriate adjustments when necessary. Plan, monitor, and coordinate materiel requirements in support of assigned cryptologic secure electronic equipment undergoing repair, overhaul, and/or modification to ensure availability of materiels within timeframes required to meet work schedules. Represent the supply organization in a professional manner at preplanning conferences and actively participate in the initial planning for materiel requirements for overhaul, modification, and repair of assigned cryptologic systems contributing to providing optimum materiel support to meet established schedules. Provide reliable technical guidance in the management, control, and coordination of materiel needs in the continuing support of assigned cryptologic systems. Provide assistance to the Air Force technical representative at interim support selections and guidance provisioning conferences. Promptly initiate the necessary action to procure, distribute, or redistribute materiel within the supply system to support critical materiel requirements effecting cryptologic systems. Participate and assist in forecasting budgetary requirements by providing valid, reliable, and accurate input to assure availability of funds needed to support materiel requirements in quantities required at the appropriate time. Perform needed background research, evaluation and analysis in advance to be fully prepared to actively participate and provide valid input and/or recommendations and contribute to successful accomplishment of conference/meeting objectives. Prepare and present briefings at meetings/conferences.
