.Our Mid Market team is currently seeking a Business Development Consultant to support a book of business of installed based customers. The BDC is responsible for managing the relationship and support model for mid market accounts to provide a higher level of strategy, business management and support leadership in order to enable rapid growth and long:term relationships with this market.Responsibilities:The primary responsibility of the Business Development Consultant (BDC) within the Mid Market customer base is to develop a strong rapport with an existing set customer base, and will be responsible for selling across the Rackspace portfolio against a prospect universe inclusive of companies ranging from 100M in size to 1.5B annually. Also responsible for maintaining a clear understanding of how the customer base is using Rackspace solutions, and generate new business within the customer base by solving solutions through leveraging the Rackspace product portfolio. BDCA?s also work closely with other account team members (i.e. Account Managers, Lead Tech, and Sales Engineers), to ensure Rackspace is continually delivering customers with a world class customer service experience. Job ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will:Be responsible for full cycle sales from lead to closeDisplay superior presentation and negotiation skills in order to gain new businessBe expected to meet and exceed a monthly sales targetWork closely with Sales Engineers to provide the right solution to the customerMaintain constant communication with the customer to ensure you know how they are using the Rackspace portfolioHandle a portfolio that can range from 40:60 accounts.Functions as the A?general managerA? for growth accounts, or small set of accounts.Responsible for the overall customer relationship, including: strategic planning, revenue growth targets, support delivery, financial management and all operations necessary to profitably retain, grow and service the customer. Required Qualifications:A minimum of 5+ years successful installed base B2B sales experienceExperience of strategic selling at Executive and Board levelPossesses superior follow up skills with the ability to respond under pressureAble to work to a monthly target and be able to effectively communicate over the phone, through email and face:to:faceGoal oriented with superior work ethic and negotiation skillsProven territory / vertical market sales development skillsEffective time management skillsExcellent strategic planning, financial management, communication, and presentation skills.Bachelors degree in business, sales, or marketing required.Guru Qualifications: Expert knowledge of Rackspace products and servicesBroad knowledge of strategic customer relationship management within the technology services field with strong leadership skills.Sales experience in a technology related industry preferred
