Job Description:/h3:
U.S. Got People is seeking to hire a Licensed Dietitian for the Department of Human Services. This position is scheduled to begin by end of March following interviews. Qualified individuals are encouraged with a copy of your resume and best times to interview.

Duration: 1:2 Months (potentially longer)
Registered/Licensed Dietitian
Job Summary: Under immediate supervision, is responsible for professional level work in Senior Services, Senior Nutrition Program, requiring continuous nutrition services, such as menu planning, nutrition intake analysis, nutrition assessment, and nutrition education. May exercise functional supervision over assigned staff.
Essential Job Functions:
:Investigates complaints and/or deficiencies pertaining to dietary and nutrition services subject to Federal, State, and local standards.
:Evaluates program and/or service performance to determine compliance with Federal, State, and local
:Observes efficiencies and effectiveness of program operations and makes recommendations concerning improvements.
:Plans and implements nutrition and dietary services and programs offered by the department.
:Develops and evaluates policies and procedures necessary to carry out specific programs.
:Coordinates activities with staff involved in nutrition services.
:Coordinates and plans for effective utilization of information through training, advising, and educational programs.
:Coordinates and evaluates nutrition and dietary services and programs within the Department and with other agencies and institutions; makes recommendations for improvements.
:Develops cycle menus and reviews/approves substitutions which meet all program regulations for Older Americans Act programs, including providing a minimum of 1/3 the Dietary Reference Intakes.
:Interprets, evaluates, and utilizes current research related to nutritional care, aging, and supporting services.
:Serves as a nutrition expert and resource person for the Senior Nutrition Program.
:Provides nutrition assessment and counseling for high:risk program participants.
:Develops and provides nutrition education training for the program staff and participants on a variety of pertinent nutrition topics.
Job Requirements:
:Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 24 semester hours in Food and Nutrition
:Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, American Dietetic Association.
:Licensed Dietitian in accordance with Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 701
:Bilingual preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
:Knowledge of principles and practices of human nutrition.
:Ability to understand the behavioral characteristics, capabilities, and limitations of the elderly.
:Ability to relate and respond to individuals and groups of varied cultural backgrounds and lifestyles.
:Ability to communication clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
:Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate staff engaged in the operation of the City sponsored Senior Nutrition Program.
:Ability to organize, lead, and involve the site personnel and participants in program activities.
:Ability to teach program participants how to current nutritional deficiencies and improve their diet.
:Ability to perform nutrition analysis.
