Provides technical health and safety support to the Remediation and Retail Environmental Compliance organization to improve operational excellence with respect to personal and process safety performance. Develops, implements and oversees personal safety and process safety programs. Ensures appropriate health and safety plans in place prior to project execution.


: Applies strong understanding of local/state/federal health and safety regulations and industry standards impacting remediation and retail environmental projects and contractors. Performs research/assessment of regulatory requirements to determine impact on organization. Provides regulatory interpretation on application of rules, regulations, and industry practices.
: Provides leadership and support to project teams regarding development, implementation and conduct of project:specific health and safety plans. Collaborates with Andeavor Contractor Safety Manager to establish processes and procedures ensuring consistent administration of company health and safety standards across all locations. Participates in location and/or projects audits for compliance assurance and health and safety performance assessment. Communicates findings and participates in development of corrective action(s) to resolve deficiencies cited in audits and prevent recurrence. Provides guidance and assistance in development of gap closure plans.
: Ensures remediation teams compliance with corporate process safety standards. Evaluates, develops and implements a process safety program for installation and operation of remediation systems with focus on design assurance, hazard reviews and reliability.
: Oversees accident/incident investigation and root cause analysis with direct engagement as appropriate as warranted by situation. May also participate on root cause investigation teams for incidents at other businesses or locations unrelated to remediation or retail compliance work.
: In conjunction with the Manager of Contractor Safety develops and delivers training on health and safety topics. Develops safety leadership skills of staff through coaching and consultations. Develops and delivers compliance tools.
: Develops and implements an effective contractor health and safety performance management program. Performs data analysis and evaluation of health and safety metrics to determine and recommend effective and efficient solutions as necessary.
: Serves as health and safety role model actively championing and reinforcing companys expectations through field presence, site audits, observations, training and mentoring.
: Facilitates, in collaboration with Environmental, Health, Safety and Security, enterprise:wide Contractor Safety Best Practices Network.
: Leads efforts to ensure contractor compliance with regulations and contractual obligations for health and safety.


: Minimum undergraduate degree in engineering, health, safety or related field required.
: Safety certifications such as Certified Safety Professional from Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BSCP) preferred.


: Minimum 10 years combined experience administering health and safety programs.
: Minimum 7 years experience conducting audits of health and safety programs and identifying and implementing corrective actions.


: Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards such as, but not limited, to: OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Administration), NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), ANSI American National Standards Institute).
: Effective oral and written communication skills.
: Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
: Sound understanding of risk analysis/assessment tool
