If you are a Racker, we want you to come join the Racker family and Fanatical Support mission with us Managed Services for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is seeking an experienced technical leader who will lead our new Customer Reliability Engineering (CRE) team. CRE is the new standard for delivering Fanatical Support on top of Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Fanatical GCP CREA?s are focused on a set of working principles and practices focused on reliability, scalability and the development of automation for repetitive tasks at scale. This is the right role for someone who is an expert in the GCP, AWS or Openstack products and APIs. As such, this individual will become a trusted pre and post deployment consultant to customers, partnering to provide best practice recommendations around advanced cloud:based solutions as well as expert advice on existing workload migrations to the cloud. RESPONSIBILITIES:Define and implement strategy to maximize Customer application reliability through in:depth technical and operational engagementsLead a team who performs GCP research that will allow for the optimal customer experience in advising how best to leverage GCP suite of products to most optimally serve complex environmentsObtain access to, and be expected to become an expert in customers control panel for coding, optimization, scaling, and cost advisory Work with leading:edge technology in the managed cloud space Capture and share A?support on GCPA? learnings with internal security engineering teamExpected to obtain Google Cloud CertificationDeep experience in one or more of: C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, or Go.Deep experience working with Unix/Linux systems from kernel to shell and beyond, with experience working with system libraries, file systems, and client:server protocols. Networking: e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, etc., MAC addresses, IP packets, DNS, SDN, OSI layers, and load balancing. Strong expertise in designing, operating, analyzing, and troubleshooting large:scale distributed systems. In:depth knowledge of operating systems. Familiarity with algorithms, data structures and complexity analysis. Deep experience designing complex SaaS applications for cloud reliability and scalabilityGuru:level experience with GCP, AWS or Openstack and APIsDeep experience with cloud infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipeline designExpertise in operational monitoring and management tools (Nagios, Datadog, etc.)Capable of providing strategic technical adviceExperience in highly ambiguous environmentsStrong knowledge of distributed computing threats and security controlExcellent written and verbal communication skills, both highly technical and non:technicalAbility to work closely with non:technical stakeholders and executivesSystematic problem solving approach, coupled with a strong sense of ownership and drive.Strongly Preferred:DevOps or SRE experience SUPERVISION: Operates without direct supervision.EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. Usually requires 10+ years of information systems design/architecture experience.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: General office environment.
