The Electrician will maintain and repair process equipment to NEC standards. This position will also maintain and repair the plant's electrical power distribution system to NEC and OSHA standards. This position will upgrade and/or build electrical and PLC control panels.


Current Electrical license with the State of Texas
Current CE hours with the State of Texas Electrical License Board
4+ years of experience working with industrial control systems
4+ years of experience working with 480-volt electrical power distribution systems
4+ year of experience working with PLCs, Drives, and Temperature Controls

Familiarity with all equipment, processes, electrical system, and facilities is required

Layout, install, and maintain a wide variety of complex electrical equipment involved in electrical distribution systems on polyethylene blown film extrusion lines and multi-lane bag machines with Autopak equipment.
Establish secondary distribution centers, balance loads, wire circuits having a large number of units and connections.
Work from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics, sketches, and written and/or verbal instructions.
Run circuit and wiring, fabricate and install control panels for new installations or remodeling of work areas.
Trouble shoot all types of Process Equipment Control Panels.
Ensure all that all Process Equipment Safety Controls are in proper working order.
Manage the PPE and safety equipment for the maintenance department (Electrical Gloves, Arc Flash Clothing, electrically rated tools, amp meters and volt meters.)
Replace defective wiring, motors, florescent and ordinary light fixtures.
Connect wire to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
Connect power cables and install grounding leads.
Test continuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of all components.
Perform skilled repair of all electrical equipment and appliances.
Analyze problem, tear down, repair or replace defective part, and reassemble and test for proper operation and safety.
Operate a wide variety of precision measuring, recording and test equipment.
Use hand and power tools of the trade.
Keep current with all local and national electrical codes.
Communicate with appropriate production and maintenance personnel regarding electrical problems and provide technical assistance as required.
Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, and defective materials to electrical supervisor.
Prepare wiring diagrams or schematic drawings for special or unusual requirements or to established standardized wiring procedures.
Maintain necessary records and perform routine data entry into computerized inventory and purchasing system.
Move materials as necessary in the performance of duties or as directed.
Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
