Network Installation Technician (San Antonio)

General Summary

Provides ongoing technical support and maintenance of production and development systems and software products (both remote and onsite) and for configured services running on various platforms (operating within a defined operating model and processes). Provides hardware/software support and implements technology at the operating system-level across all server and network areas, and for particular software solutions/vendors/brands. Responsible for Level 2 intermediate level troubleshooting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors and responds to complex technical control facility hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques.
  • Provide LAN server support.
  • Provides system administration of Network, Web, and/or communication systems, including Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) systems, involving network security.
  • Prepares technical implementation plans that provide integrated solutions including actions, milestones, timelines and critical paths required for complete solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five (5) years relevant experience
  • Must possess anactive Secret Clearance or higher, or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC) at time of proposal submission.
  • Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and products that include Microsoft Windows 7&8, Windows Servers, Microsoft Office and SharePoint 2013, Microsoft Lync 2013.
    Applies standard methodology, techniques, procedures and criteria.
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve intermediate level system hardware, software or networking related problems.
    Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and to translate technical terminology into terms understandable to non-technical employees.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
