Pump Technician - Eagle Ford

Job Description

The Pump Technician - Eagle Ford performs all duties required to maintain pump mechanical Integrity including variable speed drives at all SWD's. This position requires travel between multiple site locations.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

* Repairs, installs and removes a variety of centrifugal, submersible, water injection, gear, diaphragm and reciprocating pumps, as well as other related, rotating equipment. EMPHASIS ON HIGH PRESSURE INJECTION PUMPS, Baker Hughes, DXP, and Schlumberger Horizontal pump install, repair, and drive configuration.

* Responds on-call and in a timely fashion to operating areas.

* Performs pump removals and installations.

* Rebuilds pumps in the field and at facility locations.

* Performs new base installations, new equipment startups, and shop rebuilds.

* Maintains, trouble shoots, diagnoses, and repairs all rotating equipment in cost effective manner and within spending thresh hold; reconditions and replaces parts.

* Manages warranties for equipment and maintains accurate record keeping.

* Follows all customer safety regulations, OSHA required safety compliances, as well as NGL Water Solutions safety protocols at all times.

* Reports and discusses safety concerns immediately with management.

* Completes and submits all onsite and in-house repairs accurately and in a timely manner.

* Performs scheduled spot checks.

* Verifies before 3rd party work is initiated that the equipment is not already under warranty.

* Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Wide range of knowledge with most rotating equipment.

* Laser alignment equipment and vibration analysis experience.

* Familiarity with new installs and system experience.

* Ability to read micrometers/calipers.

* Machining and basic welding skills, to include structural welding, Tig, Mig, Stick, and sanitary stainless welding. Pipe fitting and experience with stainless/aluminum/steel required.

* Advanced hydraulic and electrical skills.

* Ability to read and understand blue prints.

* Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.

* Operate necessary tools, equipment, and diagnostic computers.

* Maintain a clean driving record to operate company vehicles.

* Comply with any additional tasks and assignments.

* Ability to work overtime as necessary.

* Ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally.

* Ability to work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and customers.

* Must be committed to working safely at all times.

* Regular attendance at the worksite is required.

Experience/Education:

* 4+ years of pump maintenance experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills.

* Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.

* Requires a valid driver's license.

Travel: Up to 10% travel required. Requires the ability to travel to field locations where environment may vary significantly.

* Push and pull material and equipment from one place to another;

* Move about in an office environment;

* Work using repetitive motion.

* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

* Work requires physical efforts associated with using the computer and phones to access information.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is:

* Occasionally in an office environment.

* Occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places.

* Frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat.

* Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, hand tools and small to medium-sized power tool use.

* Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.

* Regularly exposed to non-toxic propane fumes or airborne particles.

* Regularly exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

This position is required to be performed at the work site during regularly scheduled hours. Physical presence at the work site is required.
