Quality Engineer Technician
Reports To: Engineering Supervisor
Department: Engineering
Classification: Non:Exempt
Date: 4/06/2017
This position provides support to resolve issues and improve processes to help production staff to keep assembly and manufacturing systems working smoothly and efficiently.
:Assist the production team in resolving technical problems.
:Repair and control welding fixtures.
:Handle day to day production issues.
:Supervise and control welding tips for spot welding machine.
:Make replacement parts for welding fixtures and welding machines.
:Test welding fixtures and make necessary adjustments.
:Investigate quality defects and make countermeasure to make improvements.
:Support welding trials and stamping trials.
:Other duties as assigned.
:Knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing process.
:Ability to use independent judgment in the exercise of daily responsibilities.
:Must be familiar with the calibration and use of dimensional measuring equipment. (calipers, micrometers, and indicator)
:Ability to work from plans, blueprints, sketches, models, and oral or written instructions, and to exercise judgment in determining techniques and methods.
:Ability to hand sketch drawings legibly.
:Ability to work well with a wide range of people.
:Ability to analyze and solve problems.
:Work effectively under deadlines; maintain detailed and accurate records.
:Good communication skills.
Work is indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 33 pounds. The employee may visit the manufacturing environment where personal protective equipment is required.
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required
knowledge and abilities is qualifying. However, we prefer the following.
:High School Diploma or Technical Trade plus a minimum of four years of related experience preferred.
:Experience with spot welding machines preferred
:Experience with conventional machines (mill, lathe, grinder, and drill press)
:Must have excellent computer skills.
:Must have exceptional problem solving abilities.
:Must be able to work independently.
:Must be detail oriented and organized.
